Requirements

Compatible Operating Systems

ByteSync runs on 64-bit versions of the following operating systems:

  • Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 & Windows 11
  • Windows Server 2016 & Windows Server 2019
  • Linux Debian 9+
  • Linux Ubuntu 16.04+
  • Fedora 33+ Linux
  • macOS 10.15+

ByteSync does not work on 32-bit operating systems, Android and iOS mobile operating systems, and is not available as a dedicated application for NAS.

Internet access

ByteSync uses cloud services that are accessible via HTTPS outbound connections on port 443. The following domains must be allowed to exit:

  • https://powbytesyncwa1.azurewebsites.net
  • https://powbytesync1.blob.core.windows.net
  • https://powgeneral1.blob.core.windows.net

Valid ByteSync subscription

To use ByteSync, you must have a valid ByteSync subscription. When launching ByteSync, you will be prompted to enter your ByteSync account email address and the serial number of the subscription.

We offer both free and paid subscriptions. Each subscription differs in terms of features offered and a maximum quota of exchangeable data per month.
