Evolving Features: What’s Missing and What’s Next
This Open Source release marks a fresh start for ByteSync, but to make it available sooner, two features were temporarily left out:
- Session Profiles, which allow users to quickly start synchronization sessions with predefined settings, will be reintroduced in a future update.
- Local Synchronization, previously available for syncing files on the same device or local network, will not return in the foreseeable future. For now, ByteSync remains focused on remote synchronization, via the cloud.
We’re committed to delivering updates at a much faster pace going forward, thanks to the complete rewrite of the software. This foundation sets the stage for future enhancements while maintaining the simplicity and reliability you expect.
